WWII Aleutian Arctic B-7 Parka Size 36

This is an excellent example of a WWII coat that has achieved grail status among collectors. The B-7 arctic parka was only made at the very beginning of WWII, but was later discontinued because it was deemed too costly to manufacture. It was made out of sheepskin shearling and worn by flight crews in unheated cockpits in Alaska and other arctic regions. Quality reproductions by Real McCoys sell for over $5,000. This specimen is in excellent condition, considering it is 80 years old. It was made by Aero Leather Clothing Company. It shows normal wear and tear and has very few stains. Because these parkas are light colored, it is rare to find them without excessive soiling. The sheepskin is smooth and pliable, and the shearling inside is soft and unblemished. The coyote fur color is in good shape, and all the buttons and Talon zippers work well. There is only one major flaw with this parka, which is a hole on the left elbow. The exterior leather is split, but the shearling is still without holes on the inside of the coat. I am willing to have the hole professionally mended free of charge with the patch shown, but I have not yet done so. There is another small hole at the top of the right front pocket. The tag size of this parka is 36R. I am 5’8” tall, 165 lbs, with a 39” chest, and it fits me perfectly. Please see photos and measurements for more details.
